We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Newport Beach, California. This role is vital to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations, including overseeing accounting processes, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a detail-oriented approach to managing budgets, payroll, and tax requirements while contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise and manage all aspects of the accounting function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards
Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger
Coordinate and support financial audits, including DCAA audits, to ensure compliance with regulations
Manage payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing
Monitor and enforce tax compliance, including preparation and submission of required filings
Develop and maintain budgets, providing insights and recommendations for financial planning
Utilize QuickBooks Online to manage accounting records and processes efficiently
Ensure adherence to best practices in financial reporting and accounting procedures
Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and systems
Requirements:
Proven experience in accounting or financial management roles, preferably within the construction industry
Expertise in month-end close procedures and general ledger management
Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and audits, including DCAA requirements
Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
Solid understanding of payroll processes and tax compliance
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
