As an Assistant Controller, you will work within the finance function and participate in performance management processes as well as support decision-making. Job Responsibility:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in collaboration with accounting and operational teams
Participate in the preparation of the closing package, including the income statement, balance sheet, analytical accounts, and simplified cash flow statement
Analyze financial variances and conduct investigations to explain discrepancies, in collaboration with operational teams
Ensure budget consistency by comparing operational assumptions with actual financial data
Contribute to the implementation and adherence to internal control procedures
Maintain and optimize Excel financial models and tools (pivot tables, reporting automation)
Provide analytical support for strategic decision-making and performance improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
CPA designation in progress or recently obtained (an asset)
3 to 6 years of accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or firm setting
Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Advanced proficiency in Excel
knowledge of an ERP system (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, etc.) is an asset
Team spirit, autonomy, rigor, and willingness to learn
Nice to have:
CPA designation in progress or recently obtained
Knowledge of an ERP system (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, etc.)
