The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving group, corporate, and local account revenue for assigned hotels in the Biloxi and Hattiesburg markets. This role supports multiple properties and focuses on proactive sales efforts, account management, market penetration, and revenue growth while aligning with brand standards and company sales strategies.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute proactive sales strategies to increase room nights, ADR, and overall revenue across assigned properties
Solicit and secure new corporate, group, SMERF, and local business accounts
Conduct outside sales calls, site inspections, and client presentations in assigned markets
Maximize market share through competitive analysis and targeted account acquisition
Maintain and grow existing accounts through regular communication, follow-ups, and relationship building
Negotiate contracts, rates, and agreements within established guidelines
Ensure smooth handoff of booked business to hotel operations and on-property sales teams
Track sales activities, goals, and production using CRM and brand-required systems
Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and activity recaps
Monitor market trends, competitors, and demand generators in both markets
Work closely with General Managers, Revenue Management, and Operations teams
Ensure compliance with brand sales standards, reporting, and ethical guidelines
Participate in sales meetings, trade shows, networking events, and brand initiatives
Requirements:
Minimum 2–4 years of hotel sales experience, preferably multi-property or area sales
Strong knowledge of the Biloxi and/or Hattiesburg markets preferred
Experience selling corporate, group, and local negotiated business
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to travel locally between properties and client locations
Proficiency in hotel sales systems and Microsoft Office
