Job Description:

As our Angiography Tech, you will operate diagnostic equipment and perform a variety of technical angiography procedures. Every day you will provide patient orientation, explain procedures, and deliver pre and post-diagnostic care until test completion. This includes positioning patients, calibrating equipment, and meticulously documenting findings. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate technical proficiency in angiography, strong attention to detail for equipment operation and documentation, and excellent patient communication skills to ensure comprehensive diagnostic imaging tests.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate diagnostic equipment and perform a variety of technical angiography procedures
  • Provide patient orientation, explain procedures, and deliver pre and post-diagnostic care
  • Position patients, calibrate equipment, and meticulously document findings
  • Perform angiography exams according to departmental protocols
  • Prepare and ensure equipment is operational, safe, and functioning
  • Problem-solve equipment failure and imaging quality
  • Ensure daily equipment and room maintenance are performed
  • Complete all quality checks and ensure equipment logs are maintained
  • Complete clinical supply inventory
  • Demonstrate competency in PACS process and perform daily QA process
  • Actively participate with patient testing
  • Communicate with Patient Transportation, Nursing Units, Physician Offices, and other diagnostic areas
  • Ensure patient orientation, preparation, and teaching is provided
  • Review physician order to verify type of diagnostic test
  • Provide specific diagnostic test information to the patient
  • Obtain patient history
  • Position the patient for the examination
  • Select equipment pre-sets and modify settings
  • Assume responsibility for the safety, emotional and physical comfort of patients
  • Adhere to hospital guidelines on maintaining sterile fields
  • Monitor and record radiation dose levels
  • Perform required image post processing
  • Scrub in to assist Radiologists in performance of sterile procedures

Requirements:

  • One (1) experience as a Radiographer
  • BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire
  • Registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), upon hire
  • Licensed as a Medical Radiographer through the Texas Board of Medicine, upon hire
  • Registered Technologist Vascular Interventional Rad, within 24 months or Registered Technologist Cardio Interventional Radiography, within 24 months
