We’re looking for an Android Engineer to join our global Tech team and help shape the future of our Android product. You’ll be based at our Stockholm headquarters at Repslagargatan 17, Södermalm, working in a hybrid setup - and report directly to our Head of Technology.
Job Responsibility:
Build, maintain, and scale Lifesum’s Android app with a strong focus on quality, performance, and user experience
Take end-to-end ownership of complex features — from idea and architecture to production and follow-up
Be accountable for delivery and quality, proactively identifying and mitigating bottlenecks and risks
Act as a technical force multiplier for the team — owning Android best practices, managing tech debt, and serving as a key point of contact for Android-related matters
Proactively identify, prioritise, and execute structural and architectural improvements with scalability and long-term maintainability in mind
Mentor team members and communicate technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements:
Expert-level experience building Android applications with Kotlin and Coroutines
Solid knowledge of modern Android libraries and patterns such as Hilt, Retrofit, Room, MVVM, and the Repository pattern
Strong ability to self-organise and manage your workload in line with the needs of a growing startup
A pragmatic approach: you sweat the details, but know when to balance perfection with progress
Excellent communication skills — collaborating with developers, product managers, and stakeholders is a core part of the role
Want your work to have real impact on people’s lives, not just ship features
Nice to have:
Experience containers and orchestration (we use Kubernetes)
Experience with CI tooling (we use GitHub Actions)
Experience from startups or scale-ups (a strong plus)
What we offer:
Hybrid work setup with our HQ in Stockholm
Fast decision-making and real ownership — less bureaucracy, more impact
A culture of curiosity — collaboration and engagement
Shared wellbeing experiences — cook, train, and prioritize your health together
Comprehensive benefits — private health insurance, personal development budget, generous wellness allowance, and more
