The Analyst will focus on building and maintaining relationships with Greater China–based fund managers to obtain high‑value proprietary information. This includes insights into investment activities and preferences, fundraising activity, and performance data. This is a distinctive research role that requires a sales‑oriented and relationship‑driven mindset, enabling the Analyst to unlock and sustain long‑term research partnerships across the region. The role also involves responding to data inquiries, conducting quality assurance, monitoring data consistency, and engaging with clients on data‑related matters. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include accurately sourcing, validating, and integrating alternative investment data from multiple channels into our database.
Job Responsibility:
Proactively communicating and building relationships with key professionals of all levels within the alternative assets industry to obtain valuable proprietary information on past, current and future investment activities including historic performance
Holding regular face to face meetings with fund managers to gain fundraising and performance data
Working actively alongside the sales team to build strategic research relationships with fund managers and other key market participants
Representing Preqin at conferences and networking events
Managing internal database
Conducting bespoke statistical analysis for clients
Supporting senior leaders on research projects and regional strategy regarding further data enhancement and development activities
Conducting supplementary public/web research where necessary
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, data science, computer science, or relevant field
1 - 3 years of experience in data/ financial data services/ relationship management
Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Mandarin is a must
Good knowledge and experience of the Greater China alternatives are a plus
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong work ethic and with the ability to work well under pressure as a team player
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Additional technology skills (Python, VBA, SQL, etc.) are a plus

Good knowledge and experience of the Greater China alternatives
