We are seeking individuals with a positive can do attitude who are able and willing to take on the challenge of maintaining and improving the safety and service record of the Prince Rupert Airport.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintaining and improving the safety and service record of the Prince Rupert Airport
  • Perform winter and summer runway maintenance
  • Grounds and road maintenance
  • Fuelling aircraft
  • Providing services to itinerant general aviation aircraft
  • Performing safety and security duties at the airport
  • General maintenance of buildings and equipment
  • Light janitorial duties

Requirements:

  • Secondary level, Grade 12 or higher
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proven attendance, reliability, and professionalism
  • BC Driver’s License Class 5 with airbrake endorsement
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a RAIC (Restricted Area Identification Card)
  • AVOP (Airport Vehicle Operator Permit) or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment
  • Restricted Radio Permit Aviation or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment
  • Experience using Microsoft Windows and Office with the ability to prepare basic reports
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively
  • Participate in Airport Safety and Security initial and recurrent training provided by the airport
  • WHMIS, First Aid/CPR certification
  • Must have availability to participate in after-hours on-call rotation
  • Physically able to perform manual labour (lifting, pushing, shovelling snow or sand as required)
  • Safe fuel handling practices and training

Nice to have:

  • Preference will be given to Class 3
  • must provide a recent driver’s abstract
  • Aircraft fuelling experience considered an asset
