The APRN is responsible for promoting and demonstrating Parrish Healthcare's Culture of Choice®; and is an Allied Health Professional member of Parrish Medical Center's Medical Staff. The APRN works collaboratively with the supervising physician or designated back-up physicians. The APRN performs physical exams, collects, and documents data, conducts approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care services in their assigned unit. The APRN contributes to excellence in patient care, teaching, consulting, and provides leadership to the organization and healthcare professions. The APRN is responsible for ensuring strategic goals and objectives are met or exceeded by providing leadership, direction, and oversight to effectively fulfill our mission to provide Healing Experiences for Everyone all the Time® and achieve organizational strategic (Game Plan) goals.
Job Responsibility:
Provide direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients
Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations
Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests
Perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures
Formulate and implement treatment plan for acute illness management
Assess patient for change in status and institute appropriate interventions
Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making
Perform and participate in quality/performance improvement activities
Participate in and support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities
Identify educational needs of the family and participate in teaching
Assess educational needs, plan, provide, and evaluate educational programs
Participate in the development, review, and evaluation of practice protocols
Role model professionalism
Demonstrate responsibility for professional practice
Enhance the body of knowledge of nursing
Follow all policies and procedures
Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures
Requirements:
Masters in Nursing required
Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) program required
Two or more years of clinical experience as a nursing practitioner at a hospital with a related specialty is strongly preferred
Clear and Active Florida Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner License required
National Provider Identifier (NPI) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number required
BLS and ACLS through The American Heart Association required
