Job Description:

The faculty member will conduct their assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purpose of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach. Occasional travel may be required. The faculty member is also responsible for scholarly and creative activities (professional development) and service to the college.

Job Responsibility:

  • Teach Medical/Surgical, Psychiatric, and/or OB/Pediatric Nursing
  • Interact with students in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings to provide optimum learning opportunities
  • Administer and grade written tests and assignments
  • Demonstrate required nursing skills in the laboratory and clinical agency settings
  • critique and eventually evaluate student performance in the laboratory and clinical agency settings
  • Teach concepts of nursing education and demonstrate required nursing skills for students
  • Follow Nursing Program Curriculum
  • Demo all skills identified on the nursing skills checklist

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing plus 4,000 hours of paid industry experience within the last five years
  • Must meet criteria of the Colorado State Board of Nursing (SBON) and to maintain career technical certification to teach
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment post-offer urine analysis
  • Shall hold or qualify for a post-secondary vocational credential in Health Science Technology issued by Aims Community College CTE Office
