Job Description:

Detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is a short-term contract to full time position within the wholesale distribution industry, offering an excellent opportunity for career growth and development. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of the Accounts Payable function, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and supporting audits.

Job Responsibility:

Manage administrative and clerical tasks for the Accounts Payable and Finance Department
Execute daily financial processes and controls with accuracy and adherence to company policies
Provide exceptional customer service to internal business partners
Assist with internal and external audits as needed
Open, sort, and distribute department mail efficiently
Organize, log, photocopy, and file invoices, checks, and other related documents
Verify, log, and mail checks, including handling expedited requests
Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage shifting priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and financial teams
Demonstrated ability to handle interruptions and work with a sense of urgency
Familiarity with coding invoices, check runs, and invoice processing
