Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client's team in Fort Worth, Texas, and oversee the financial operations of a rapidly growing construction business. This role is critical in ensuring precise job costing, adherence to compliance standards, and delivering timely financial reports. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of construction accounting, and a commitment to maintaining robust internal controls.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with industry standards
  • Handle cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and reconciliation processes to maintain financial stability
  • Monitor project financials and generate detailed reports on costs, profitability, and progress
  • Ensure accurate job costing and oversee work-in-progress reporting, cost codes, and billing calculations
  • Analyze labor, subcontractor costs, materials, equipment usage, and change orders for financial impacts
  • Review contract documentation, schedules of values, and lien waivers to ensure compliance
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and reviewing work for accuracy
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with tax regulations, including payroll and sales/use taxes
  • Optimize construction accounting software usage and identify opportunities for process improvements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years specializing in construction or job costing
  • Proven supervisory or management experience, with strong leadership abilities
  • Expertise in construction accounting principles, including job costing and billing processes
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements related to audits, bonding, and insurance reporting
