We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client's team in Fort Worth, Texas, and oversee the financial operations of a rapidly growing construction business. This role is critical in ensuring precise job costing, adherence to compliance standards, and delivering timely financial reports. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of construction accounting, and a commitment to maintaining robust internal controls.
Job Responsibility:
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with industry standards
Handle cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and reconciliation processes to maintain financial stability
Monitor project financials and generate detailed reports on costs, profitability, and progress
Ensure accurate job costing and oversee work-in-progress reporting, cost codes, and billing calculations
Analyze labor, subcontractor costs, materials, equipment usage, and change orders for financial impacts
Review contract documentation, schedules of values, and lien waivers to ensure compliance
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and reviewing work for accuracy
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with tax regulations, including payroll and sales/use taxes
Optimize construction accounting software usage and identify opportunities for process improvements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
At least 7 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years specializing in construction or job costing
Proven supervisory or management experience, with strong leadership abilities
Expertise in construction accounting principles, including job costing and billing processes
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of compliance requirements related to audits, bonding, and insurance reporting
