We are looking for a skilled Accountant with a strong focus on payroll-related tasks to join our finance team in Phoenix, Arizona. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment while ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance. The role will involve managing weekly payroll processes, maintaining detailed employee records, and working closely with team members to address any payroll-related issues.
Job Responsibility:
Process weekly payroll transactions with precision and ensure proper entry into accounting systems
maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll and HR records, including onboarding documentation for new team members
perform payroll-related data entry, including journal entries and adjustments in alignment with bookkeeping standards
utilize QuickBooks Desktop or similar software to deliver timely and error-free payroll processing
ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and relevant laws and regulations
collaborate actively with team members to address payroll concerns and support overall financial operations
reconcile payroll accounts with the general ledger in partnership with the Controller
attend and contribute to weekly team meetings to provide updates and insights
assist in maintaining employee records related to payroll changes, departures, and new team member setups
support the finance team with additional accounting tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Demonstrated proficiency in accounting principles and payroll management systems, with experience in QuickBooks Desktop preferred
strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in financial records and transactions
prior experience in maintaining employee records, including onboarding and offboarding processes
ability to reconcile payroll accounts and verify accuracy in general ledger entries
excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and operations staff
capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing payroll and HR compliance
familiarity with accounting software systems and tools such as ERP, ADP, or similar platforms.
