Job Description:

This Academic Support Assistant position is based in a brilliant Secondary School in Barnet, where you will work alongside Subject Teachers to aid in students' academic progress. Responsibilities include working 1:1 and in small groups, providing feedback, and leading academic interventions in core subjects. The role provides experience to those aspiring to become teachers and includes CPD, training opportunities, and a pathway to teacher training in September 2025.

Job Responsibility:

Working with students across KS3, KS4 & KS5
Providing regular feedback to Teachers following interventions
Actively supporting students within 1:1 and small group support sessions
Leading structured academic interventions in core subjects (Maths, English & Science)

Requirements:

Hold a 1st Class or 2:1 Degree from a reputable University
Strong A Levels & GCSEs
Confident in your knowledge of core subjects (Maths, English & Science)
Have a passion for the curriculum and supporting young people
Previous experience working with young people (Tutoring, Mentoring etc)
Be able to work collaboratively in a wider team
