Job Description:

First Class Support provides academic support to students in receipt of disabled student allowance (DSA). Trainee notetakers will be recruited at entry level and must undertake our in-house L3 notetaking course (distant learning course). Once qualified, you will be able to support hearing and visually impaired students.

Job Responsibility:

  • Produce an accurate and legible record of the content of lectures, seminars, discussions, off-campus events etc. in the student’s preferred style and format
  • Notes should contain pertinent information from the session (and any questions and discussion if required), may include diagrams and may be referenced to any hand-outs
  • Hand over notes in the agreed format within a specified time frame

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with students with disabilities mainly visual impairment and specific learning difficulties
  • Quick and accurate typing skills
  • Ideally possess a good degree
  • Must be currently self-employed, or in the process of registering as a self-employed professional
  • Must be able to receive emails and phone calls when on location
