Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced A/V Systems Design Engineer to support continued company growth and long‑term succession planning as multiple senior engineers approach retirement over the next several years. This role is responsible for end‑to‑end A/V system design, supporting projects from pre‑sales and quoting through final commissioning. Unlike organizations that silo design, CAD, and field engineering, this position requires cradle‑to‑grave ownership—designing systems in detail, preparing accurate cost models, collaborating with delivery teams, and ensuring successful execution in the field.

Job Responsibility:

  • Translate Statements of Work (SOWs) from sales into complete technical designs
  • Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) including hardware, labor, and execution parameters
  • Design A/V systems so sales quotes reflect fully inclusive, accurate project costs
  • Define how systems will be installed, configured, and delivered prior to project win
  • Develop detailed 2D CAD drawings for awarded projects
  • Oversee or coordinate outsourced CAD or 3D design work when required
  • Maintain technical ownership of system architecture and performance requirements
  • Initiate and manage equipment ordering
  • Participate in project calls with project managers, coordinators, and field teams
  • Support and/or perform system testing and commissioning, including final system validation
  • Provide field support as needed to ensure proper system execution

Requirements:

  • End-to-end system design in a quoting and cost-driven environment (BOM creation, pricing, execution planning)
  • Hands-on experience testing and commissioning A/V systems
  • Proficiency with CAD / 2D system drawings
  • Strong background in A/V systems engineering and design
  • Experience with DSP and audio programming (QSC certifications or equivalent preferred)
  • Understanding of audio control, signal flow, and system configuration
  • Ability to both design systems at a desk and support execution in the field
  • Demonstrated cradle-to-grave engineering experience, from design through deployment
  • Candidates with arena or large-venue experience must also have corporate office A/V experience
  • Familiarity with integrator-based organizations and project-driven workflows

Nice to have:

  • 3D design experience (can be outsourced, but internal capability is a strong plus)
  • Experience working with integrators or members of PSNI
  • Background with organizations such as Symphony, RPM, or similar A/V integrators
What we offer:
  • medical
  • vision
  • dental
  • life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) plan
