Job Description:

A large independent connections provider with a very broad and exciting range of projects. In addition to large solar connections, the company also works extensively with heavy industries, demand side response generation, battery energy storage and large private connections to the grid. Voltages range from 11kV to 132kV with project values extending up to £8m per scheme. It's the breadth of the schemes that really stands out and makes this a very stimulating place to work.

Job Responsibility:

  • Help design contestable connections between 11kV - 33kV for a broad range of end clients and industries
  • Work closely with colleagues from the civil design team, the protection and control engineers and external clients / landowners
  • See the project through from initial design to project completion
  • Undertake the electrical design
  • Be responsible for compiling suitable contestable submissions
  • See this through to gaining contestable approval and providing support to the end of the construction phase

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in undertaking contestable designs for electrical connections to UK requirements
  • Degree or similar electrical qualification
  • AutoCad
  • Earthing design
  • Electrical Studies (P28, P29, G5/4 etc)
  • Protection and AC/DC schematics
  • Cable sizing
