Job Description:

The position of 1st Commis involves preparing meals, ensuring food quality, communicating during busy periods, following recipes and quality standards, assisting management, and fostering team collaboration. The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards, professional appearance, and providing exceptional service within the hospitality industry.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare special meals or substitute items
regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
inform Chef of excess food items for daily specials
assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating employees
maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
build and maintain positive working relationships
enforce quality standards.

Requirements:

Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
at least 3 years of related work experience
no supervisory experience required
ability to follow company safety policies
ability to lift objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
ability to reach overhead and below the knees including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
ability to communicate in clear and professional language
ability to develop positive working relationships
ability to prepare and cook food according to recipes and standards.
