Job Description:

Justteachers are working with a friendly and nurturing primary school in Dereham who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term supply basis from January. This rewarding role is ideal for a caring and patient TA who is passionate about supporting young children at a crucial stage in their development, working closely with a pupil on a 1:1 basis to help them access learning and thrive in the classroom. The successful candidate will provide tailored 1:1 support to an EYFS pupil, supporting learning, communication, and social development. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies that meet the child’s individual needs and promote positive engagement. The school is a welcoming and inclusive setting with a strong focus on early years development and pupil wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively in a supportive environment, and the leadership team is committed to providing high-quality support for both pupils and staff.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to an EYFS pupil
  • Support learning, play, and early development activities
  • Implement individual support strategies and interventions
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in EYFS
  • Two recent references
  • Experience providing 1:1 support (desirable)
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child development
